COMPETITION RULES
- All entries must be accompanied by a completed online entry form.
- All entries must have been published by media outlets from 1 January 2007 to 30 September 2007.
- All entries must have been originally published in either a print or an online media outlet, including publications of individual companies, associations or universities.
- The main editorial office of the media in which the entry was published must be based in one of the 27 EU Member States.
- The deadline for entries is 30 September 2007.
- Each contestant may submit up to three articles.
- Entries must be at least 3,800 characters in length, including blanks.
- Articles can be submitted in the 23 official languages of the 27 EU Member States.
- Single articles or a series of articles published in a single issue will be accepted.
- Where the entry was a collaborative effort, all major contributors, e.g. researchers, journalists and editors, should be specified with the entry. A team entry may consist of a maximum of five individuals.
- Each entry must be made with the written consent of the author.
- Participants should keep copies of all material submitted, as entries will not be returned.
- The European Commission reserves the right to utilise the contributed material for presentation and media use and to reproduce it for the purpose of promoting the Award and the EU anti-discrimination campaign. This includes the entries' publication in a special Journalist Award 2007 winner's booklet.
- The decision of the jury is final. The jury reserves the right to reject any entry that does not comply with the requirements of the competition.
